There is an ongoing battle between me and the squirrels. I put the food out for the birds and I really wouldn't mind the squirrel getting some food. However they are VERY greedy and will polish off all the food in double-quick time.
So - I suspended the fat-ball feeder from a super long wire to stop the squirrel climbing down to the food. As you can see below, this is working really well. (!)

Perhaps a flaming ring? If it doesn't deter the squirrel, then you still have a circus act. Can't lose.
