I just thought it might be nice to let people see me enjoying my new career in retail (!)
I work as a volunteer on Monday and Wednesday afternoons in the CLC Bible bookshop - just helping serve in the shop, book in stock, answer the phone etc. It's gentle work but it helps me not to feel too 'retired'.
Who is CLC?
CLC is a missionary organisation made up of individuals from many denominations with a common call and conviction that literature changes lives. Bound together by a common purpose: They wish to see people come to faith and maturity in the Lord Jesus Christ, and consequently believe that evangelical literature can be an essential part in this process.CLC comes from the phrase "Christian Literature Crusade"
CLC feels that Bibles, books, CDs, DVDs, and teaching materials are important ways to reinforce what we are taught in our churches. In the bookshops, it is also found that interaction with customers can result in encouraging one another, praying for each other’s needs, and even someone coming to know Jesus for the first time. There has been a slogan bouncing around CLC for some years, “Just a drop of ink can make a million think.”
